Coaching Staff
As a lifelong Leesburg resident and Loudoun County High School graduate, Coach Katie has been active in the local swimming community for decades. She was a member of Ida Lee Recreation Center’s first officially sanctioned USA Swimming team in the 1990s and hasn’t left the water since.
Coach Katie works with swimmers of all ages and is credentialed through USA Swimming, the American Swim Coaches Association, and US Masters Swimming. You may recognize her as a current age-group coach with Machine Aquatics, a learn-to-swim instructor at Ida Lee, or in the water completing her own training swims.
She brings a strong foundation in stroke fundamentals and a genuine love for swimming as a lifelong sport, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, confidence, and positivity while supporting swimmers of all abilities. Professionally, Coach Katie holds an MS in Organizational Behavior and is completing her doctorate in Strategic Leadership- strengths that further fuel her passion for building successful, supportive team environments.
